Paris, France

Welcome back everyone to my second blog post. In this post I will be writing about another favourite travel location of mines which is the romantic city of Paris! Similar to my first blog post I will be sharing recommendations on sights to visit, where to eat and places to stay. I have visited Paris on two separate occasions at different times of year, once in the late spring and once in the early winter, so this blog post will be all about the best way to spend your time in Paris during these different seasons. Enjoy! Sights to see and places to visit The number one monument that I would recommend visiting in Paris during any time of year is of course the iconic Eiffel Tower. I would recommend that you visit the Eiffel tower around sunset time, as begins to get dark the lights shimmer every hour for five minutes showing the tower to be beautifully illuminated as seen in the video below. Another great sight to see in Paris is the Sacré-Cœur Basilica, not only is this church beautiful i...

Split, Croatia

Hi everyone, for my first post I will be sharing all about my experience of travelling to Split, Croatia last summer. In this blog I will share an itinerary of sights to see, places to eat, where to stay and what was planned for the four days I spent there.

Day 1
When we landed in split it was around 8:00 pm, the Split Airport to the City of Split is about a 30 minute journey and there are many forms of travel provided, such as shuttle bus which would cost around 8 euro, but instead we decided to opt for Uber as we knew it would get us to the city much quicker. The Uber fair came to around 30 euro, although when travelling with multiple people this price can be split so I would definitely recommend Uber as your main source of travel when leaving the city as it is reliable and quick. The first thing we did was check into our accommodation ‘Apartment Bosanska’ this apartment was built within the walls of the historic Diocletian's Palace meaning we were in the heart of the city, this is the view from our apartment window.

We found this apartment on 'booking.com', the apartment sleeps two people and worked out at around £300 each for a five nights stay. This may seem pricey although we stayed at a very busy time of year and were provided with tons of information such as what ATMs to avoid and which ferry travel company to use all whilst being located in the city centre; This is the link to the apartment we stayed in: https://www.booking.com/hotel/hr/apartment-bosanska-splitThat night we to ‘Bakra’ which is a steak and pizza bar located in the city, the food was great and the prices were feasible, we ordered the Margherita and mixed pizzas.

Day 2
We decided to explore the town of split and see all the sights. One of the highlights of our trip to Split was exploring Diocletian's Palace, this remarkable palace was built in the 4th century by the Roman Emperor Diocletian as his retirement residence. The palace is a maze of narrow alleys, charming squares, and hidden courtyards, where you can discover ancient architecture and artefacts at every corner. We then climbed Marjan Hill its breathtaking views of the city are a must see, once we got to the top of the hill we stop at the ‘Spalato viewpoint cafe’ and enjoyed an ice coffee whilst we relaxed and took in the scenery seen in the picture below. That night we took a short walk to the bustling Bacvice which is located in the city, this stunning beach had a great atmosphere filled with tourists from all over the world.

Day 3
On day three, we decided to explore the nearby islands, and Hvar was our choice. We took a ferry ride with a company named ‘Jadrolinija’ the ferry ride cost us 20 euro each for an all day return ticket from Split to this picturesque island known for its lavender fields and vibrant nightlife. We explored the charming town of Hvar, walked around the beautiful streets for panoramic views, and enjoyed a stunning breakfast at a local restaurant named ‘Fig’ which also has a location in Split. I ordered the granola bowl and the others got the California toast as seen below.

After our breakfast we took a boat taxi which cost us 10 euro for an all day return ticket from Hvar to a beautiful island close by named Jerolim. We spent the rest of our day on the island having swimming in the crystal clear water and enjoying cocktails from the ‘Kordovon beach bar’ located in the middle of the island. It was an island escape that left us enchanted.

Day 4
On our last full day of the trip we woke up and had breakfast in the famously renowned ‘Ćiri Biri Bela’ this five start restaurant is a serious must as it is seen all over Tiktok and is known for its long waiting queue to get in. Luckily we decided to go on a more quiet day so we got seated straight away, we ordered almond croissants, the New York bagel with bacon and eggs and fresh homemade lemonade to drink. Some may find the restaurant quite pricey but it was definitely worth it as the food was delicious and set us up for the day. Later that day we took another ferry ride with Jadrolinija travelling from split to the island of Brač. We got off at the charming town of Supetar,  this town offers a mix of natural beauty and historic sites. We explored the towns shopping stalls and we visited the Church of Mary Annunciation which is a prominent landmark in the town, the church's architecture is a blend of Baroque and Renaissance styles, and its bell tower is an iconic feature of the town's skyline.

I would definitely recommend a trip to Split, Croatia, whether you're a history buff, a nature lover, or a foodie (like me), Split will leave you with memories to cherish for a lifetime. So pack your bags and embark on an adventure to discover the enchanting beauty of Split and the Dalmatian coast.
